Windows 7 network disconnects when locked

VPN users on windows 7 might get disconnected after sometime when PC is in idle. To solve this issue you must disable sleep mode .
Windows 7 default power settings will make your PC to sleep mode after 30 mins . VPN /IM’s/ other network related things will get disconnected after you lock your PC for a while.
You need to disable sleep mode on power options to avoid network disconnection.
Please follow the instructions to disable sleep mode.
Goto –> Start –> Control Panel –> Power options
if it’s not there , please click “category” on left top of the screen and choose “small icons” .

Now you can see the power options .

On power options window click “Change plan settings” .

By defaults “computer to sleep” setting will be 30 minutes . please choose “never” in the drop down box and click “save changes” .

Now you have successfully disabled sleep mode .
Alternatively you can create your own custom plan .
On the Power option windows . click “Create a power plan” .

Give some plan name and press “next” .

Choose “never” option and press “create”.

Now you can choose your newly created plan.
